Privacy Policy

Overview

Talmero ("we", "us", "our") is a personal knowledge and memory application. We take the privacy of your thoughts seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What We Collect

• —Account information — your email address, used for authentication via magic link.
• —Notes and content — text notes, voice recordings, conversations, action items, themes, and any files you upload.
• —Usage data — anonymous product analytics (page views, feature usage) via PostHog and Vercel Analytics.
• —AI-generated metadata — embeddings, summaries, tags, themes, and action items derived from your content.

How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored in PostgreSQL hosted by Supabase, with Row Level Security ensuring only you can access your data. Voice recordings are stored in Supabase Storage. All connections use TLS encryption in transit.

Third-Party AI Processing

To provide AI features, portions of your content are sent to OpenAI for processing:

• —Note text for embedding generation, title generation, theme classification, tag extraction, and action item detection.
• —Chat messages and relevant context for AI conversation responses.
• —Voice audio for transcription via Whisper.
• —Text for text-to-speech when using read aloud.

We use OpenAI's API — your data is not used to train their models. See OpenAI's API data usage policy.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase session tokens) and anonymous analytics (PostHog, Vercel Analytics). We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data.

Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. Deleted notes move to a bin and are permanently removed after 30 days. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and Swiss data protection law:

• —Access — export all your notes from Settings at any time.
• —Delete — delete individual notes or request full account deletion.
• —Portability — notes can be exported as Markdown.
• —Rectification — edit any content at any time.
• —Object — contact us to object to specific data processing.

Children

Talmero is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
